These Honey BBQ Chicken Wings are crispy, sticky, and packed with smoky-sweet flavor. Perfect for game nights, parties, or a delicious meal at home!
Ingredients
For the Wings:
- 2 lbs chicken wings (split into drumettes and flats)
- 1 tbsp baking powder (for extra crispiness)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For the Honey BBQ Sauce:
- ½ cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (adds tanginess)
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
Instructions
1. Prep the Wings
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel.
- Toss wings in a bowl with baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and olive oil until well coated.
2. Bake the Wings
- Arrange wings in a single layer on the wire rack.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
3. Make the Honey BBQ Sauce
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine BBQ sauce, honey, butter, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
- Stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
4. Toss & Serve
- Once wings are done, toss them in the warm Honey BBQ sauce until fully coated.
- Return wings to the oven for 5 more minutes to caramelize the sauce (optional).
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley or sesame seeds.
