Ingredients

For the Wings:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings (split into drumettes and flats)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (for extra crispiness)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Honey BBQ Sauce:

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (adds tanginess)
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Instructions

1. Prep the Wings

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and place a wire rack on top.
  • Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel.
  • Toss wings in a bowl with baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and olive oil until well coated.

2. Bake the Wings

  • Arrange wings in a single layer on the wire rack.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.

3. Make the Honey BBQ Sauce

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine BBQ sauce, honey, butter, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
  • Stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.

4. Toss & Serve

  • Once wings are done, toss them in the warm Honey BBQ sauce until fully coated.
  • Return wings to the oven for 5 more minutes to caramelize the sauce (optional).
  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley or sesame seeds.
