These Easy Fish Tacos are light, flavorful, and ready in under 30 minutes! Made with flaky seasoned fish, fresh toppings, and a creamy sauce, they’re perfect for a quick and delicious meal.
Ingredients
For the Fish:
- 1 lb white fish (tilapia, cod, mahi-mahi, or halibut)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cumin
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Juice of 1 lime
For the Toppings:
- 1 cup shredded cabbage (green, purple, or a mix)
- ½ cup diced tomatoes or pico de gallo
- ¼ cup chopped cilantro
- ½ avocado, sliced (optional)
- 1 jalapeño, sliced (optional, for heat)
- 4-6 small tortillas (corn or flour)
For the Creamy Sauce:
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp hot sauce (optional)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Season & Cook the Fish
- Pat the fish dry and rub with olive oil.
- Mix chili powder, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Sprinkle the seasoning over the fish and squeeze lime juice on top.
- Heat a pan over medium-high heat and cook fish for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden and flaky.
- Make the Creamy Sauce
- In a small bowl, mix mayo, sour cream, lime juice, garlic powder, and hot sauce. Set aside.
- Assemble the Tacos
- Warm tortillas in a pan or microwave.
- Flake the fish into bite-sized pieces and place on the tortillas.
- Top with shredded cabbage, tomatoes, cilantro, avocado, and jalapeños.
- Drizzle with the creamy sauce.
- Serve & Enjoy
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
