This Creamy Shrimp Udon is a rich, flavorful dish with tender shrimp, chewy udon noodles, and a luscious garlic-parmesan cream sauce. Itβs quick, easy, and perfect for a comforting meal!
Ingredients
- 8 oz udon noodles (fresh or frozen)
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 8-10 large shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Β½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
- Β½ cup chicken broth (or seafood broth for more flavor)
- Β½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp soy sauce (for umami)
- Β½ tsp black pepper
- Β½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- Β½ tsp paprika (for extra flavor)
- Β½ cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 1 handful baby spinach (optional, for freshness)
- Green onions & sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Udon
- If using frozen udon, cook according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Cook the Shrimp
- Heat butter and olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Add shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Make the Cream Sauce
- In the same pan, add garlic and red pepper flakes. SautΓ© for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring well. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, soy sauce, and mushrooms (if using). Simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Combine Everything
- Add cooked udon noodles and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Stir in baby spinach and return the shrimp to the pan. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until everything is heated through.
- Serve & Garnish
- Top with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately and enjoy!
