This Creamy Shrimp Udon is a rich, flavorful dish with tender shrimp, chewy udon noodles, and a luscious garlic-parmesan cream sauce. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for a comforting meal!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz udon noodles (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 8-10 large shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Β½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
  • Β½ cup chicken broth (or seafood broth for more flavor)
  • Β½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp soy sauce (for umami)
  • Β½ tsp black pepper
  • Β½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • Β½ tsp paprika (for extra flavor)
  • Β½ cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 1 handful baby spinach (optional, for freshness)
  • Green onions & sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Udon
    • If using frozen udon, cook according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the Shrimp
    • Heat butter and olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
    • Add shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Cream Sauce
    • In the same pan, add garlic and red pepper flakes. SautΓ© for 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring well. Bring to a gentle simmer.
    • Stir in Parmesan cheese, soy sauce, and mushrooms (if using). Simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  4. Combine Everything
    • Add cooked udon noodles and toss to coat in the sauce.
    • Stir in baby spinach and return the shrimp to the pan. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until everything is heated through.
  5. Serve & Garnish
    • Top with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately and enjoy!
