Ingredients
- 1 wheel of Brie cheese (8–12 oz)
- 1/4 cup jam or preserves (e.g., raspberry, apricot, or fig)
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed (optional, for a wrapped version)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (e.g., pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
- 1 egg, beaten (if using puff pastry)
- Crackers, baguette slices, or apple slices for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Option 1: Brie Without Puff Pastry
- Place the Brie wheel on the prepared baking sheet or in an oven-safe dish.
- Spread the jam over the top of the Brie.
- Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the jam.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is soft and gooey.
- Option 2: Brie Wrapped in Puff Pastry
- Roll out the puff pastry slightly on a floured surface.
- Place the Brie in the center of the pastry. Spread jam on top of the Brie and sprinkle with nuts.
- Fold the pastry over the Brie, sealing the edges by pressing gently. Trim any excess pastry.
- Brush the pastry with the beaten egg to give it a golden finish.
- Place the wrapped Brie on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Serve:
- Let the Brie cool for 5 minutes before serving.
- Serve with crackers, baguette slices, or fresh apple slices for dipping.
