  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely diced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Make the Meatballs:
    • In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese (if using), milk, minced garlic, onion, salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano.
    • Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Do not overmix to avoid tough meatballs.
    • Roll the mixture into small 1-inch balls (about 24-30 meatballs).
  3. Bake: Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly browned and cooked through.
  4. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
    • Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is smooth and bubbly.
  5. Combine:
    • Add the baked meatballs to the saucepan with the sauce. Gently stir to coat the meatballs evenly.
  6. Serve:
    • Transfer the meatballs to a serving dish or keep them warm in a slow cooker.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley for extra color if desired.
    • Serve with cocktail picks for easy grabbing!
